October 4

The photo for today is "What I read today".  I am blessed to be able to attend a work retreat with Thayne today.  We have spent the day at the Grand America and it is such a beautiful hotel!  I think it's so interesting to listen to all the presentations made by the different managers in the company.  I read lots of power point presentations too, but I didn't think it would be a good idea to take a picture of someone during their presentation. :0  We had dinner at Bambara at the Hotel Monaco just a few blocks away from the Grand America hotel.  A lovely day.

"This happened today"...Today Keyki tried to eat a dead mouse that she found in the yard! Yuck!  The photo is just Keyki, the mouse was quickly deposited in the garbage can.

Photo of the day topic today is "Lunch Time".  I took a little lunch break while I was sewing bibs that I plan to donate to the Festival of Trees for their boutique. One of my favorite things is cottage cheese with a sprinkle of Salad Supreme and a couple of crackers. :)

So Hannah found this suggestion on instagram and here  about taking a picture every day in October and it had a list of suggested pictures for each day. I thought it sounded like a great idea!  Today's photo is "Where I stand" so I'm standing here at my front door with Oliver!  We're trying to get all the Fall decorations put up. I LOVE to decorate for this season!

Hannah's summer quilt!

Finally, I've done something to mess up my computer in a new way, and now blogger is allowing me to post a photo! Here is the photo of Hannah's quilt that she made during the summer.  She's planning on using it for her Excellence Project at Young Women in Excellence later this Fall. She did a great job on it!

End of Summer

I have tried several times to post these pictures of Katie and Hannah's summer quilting projects.  I don't know what the problem was but now it's working (Well Katie's is and Hannah's isnt...I'll just keep working on it...aarg!).  Katie worked on hers during the Summer Olympics, it was fun to work and tie and watch the amazing athletes! Hannah's is for one of her Personal Progress value projects.  Both quilts turned out wonderful and both girls have learned some valuable sewing skills! I am so proud of them!
