Hannah's summer quilt!
Finally, I've done something to mess up my computer in a new way, and now blogger is allowing me to post a photo! Here is the photo of Hannah's quilt that she made during the summer. She's planning on using it for her Excellence Project at Young Women in Excellence later this Fall. She did a great job on it!

End of Summer
I have tried several times to post these pictures of Katie and Hannah's summer quilting projects. I don't know what the problem was but now it's working (Well Katie's is and Hannah's isnt...I'll just keep working on it...aarg!). Katie worked on hers during the Summer Olympics, it was fun to work and tie and watch the amazing athletes! Hannah's is for one of her Personal Progress value projects. Both quilts turned out wonderful and both girls have learned some valuable sewing skills! I am so proud of them!

July Birthdays
Before the month of July ends I wanted to wish Katie and Oliver a Happy Birthday! We had a weekend of celebration for the two of them. Katie hosted a wizarding world of Harry Potter evening for her friends, with chocolate frogs and our own homemade Butterbeer (non-alcoholic of course!). Then she used some of her decorating magic on a cake to celebrate Oliver's first birthday! Good food and good company.

Philmont
We spent all of last week basking in the Spirit at the Priesthood Leadership Conference on Scouting at Philmont Training camp in Cimmaron, New Mexico! It was raining on us for most of the drive on Saturday morning and during our arrival and check-in at the camp so I was not feeling the love for tent camping for a week in the rain! Hannah was backcountry hiking all week so I was nervous for her to be on the mountain in the rain and lightening. All my worry was for nothing though. We had a fabulous week full of wonderful people, great training and Spirit filled meetings. It did rain on Hannah a little every day of the hike but she didn't care! She had a great experience and would probably do it again! If we get the chance to go to Philmont again we'll definitely go! It was hard to leave and come home. Good times.

Home...
There truly is nothing at all like the comforts of home. I arrived home just last night from a week long emergency visit to the hospital. Now I have no appendix and am short a piece of bowel that had a tumor attached to it. I've got a wicked bunch of staples and what looks like it will be a super scar! I am so blessed though because since arriving at home I have felt the healing power of family, friends and all those things that define HOME to me. Love to you all:)

Prom
Tonight is Prom for both of my lovely young women. Their older sister did some magic with each of their hair, and isn't this lucky little man darling. They do grow up too fast! Great times:)

Apron Swap!
So, I received my wonderful apron from my swap buddy Catherine, who lives in Australia, about a week and a half ago! I'm just now finding taking some time to post the picture of it. It is so much fun, I love it! I hope you can see from the picture that it has a dishtowel sewn right into it, what a clever idea. It is perfect for me because I'm always tucking a dishtowel into my apron pocket. Thank you Catherine!
